Kelly Ann Photography won the 2020 Hermes Award for the commercial-healthcare image, “Pivot – Our Care Lives Here.” The honor, given by the American Advertising Federation-Dayton, recognizes excellence in advertising.

Kelly Ann Photography, in partnership with Premier Health, was announced as a winner of the gold ADDY Award in Elements of Advertising from the American Advertising Federation-Dayton last February for a healthcare campaign image, titled, “Pivot – Our Care Lives Here.”

The team also received a Bronze ADDY for another submission, titled, “Careflight – Our Care Lives Here.” Both images were part of a new campaign for Premier, in partnership with the University of Dayton athletics department.

“It is an honor to be recognized and included in the amazing work coming out of Dayton,” Kelly Settle, founder and CEO of Kelly Ann Photography, said. “Winning this award validates that the images we create are not just technically excellent in the advertising world, but are also compelling realizations of our clients’ visions.”

This award-winning collaboration began when Premiere Health’s marketing department approached Kelly with a unique sports medicine marketing opportunity: crafting imagery to install in the concourse areas of the university’s newly-remodeled basketball arena.

“The immediate challenge was that each installation area and image had to be designed to fit a specific area of the concourse,” Kelly said. “Some were long panoramic located over entryways and some were around concession windows. But this gave us a chance to play around with different perspectives and possibilities.”

This exploration was made easy inside of the Kelly Ann studio, where the team shared insights and tested ideas for how to capture actions like “pivot,” “shot,” and “pass” into the photos people would see and feel as they entered the building. It was Kelly that suggested they use gels and smoke to sculpt both the models and mood, creating a dramatic and impressive atmosphere.

“I knew we had something special,” Kelly said. “It was the combination of the colors, lighting, and tone of the images; not only did they convey the message of Premier Health, but they demonstrated the power and skill of a University of Dayton athlete.”
