Happy New Year, one and all!

WOW. It feels so good to say goodbye to 2020, doesn’t it? If I were to pick one word to describe the past year, I’d have to borrow from “Friends” and say it’s:

This year taught me how to pivot our business and practices in ways that better serve you. Because possibly now more than ever, businesses across all industries need compelling professional imagery that can communicate what would have been conveyed in person pre-pandemic. For instance, with ever-changing restrictions around inviting customers into your office and around your team, any stock photos you use need as much personality as your company headshots!

When the 2020 shutdowns upended our projects, we decided to pivot and use freetime to make some upgrades.

We started with new studio lighting kits, which pushed me to refine my approach to portraits and product photography. This in turn made us more efficient with set ups on location and in the studio, which gets us all safely in and out of sessions that much faster.

I also explored ways I can use angles and light to transform regular objects into something beautiful and unique. This continues to be a source of inspiration, and I’m looking forward to sharing these techniques with future architecture, industrial, food, and product photography clients.

The past year also gave me an opportunity to redefine what success looks like for me and my team. Though our numbers are down, we were still able to do what we love because you continued to support us and trust us to maintain safe operations. And for that we could not be more grateful. Special shoutout to students, like Lexi, for finding ways to survive AND thrive in this wild ride of a year!

WIth new goals and a fresh outlook, it’s time to focus on what’s ahead. Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2021!
